Glass Sculptures designed and made by April Pebble
Working with a variety of materials I am able to make more sculptural artworks. The glass is cut, painted and then encased in lead with a thin strip of metal around the outside to keep it held strongly together. Once I have drawn up the design I work collaboratively with craftsmanJosh White
who creates the metal and wooden supports.

'Baba Jaga'- Selected for the 'British Glass Bienalle' at the Glasshouse in Stourbridge & 'Sparkle! A Spectrum of Contemporary Glass' exhibition at the Black Swan Arts Centre in Frome, Somerset 2024
Baba Jaga lives in the woods; she is good and evil, both light and dark. In slavic folklore Baba Jaga symbolises the changing of summer into winter and daytime into nighttime. This sculpture was made using traditional stained glass techniques, it involves painting with high fire glass paints, copper foiling and metal fabrication.
'The Hive' Sculpture- Installed at Medicine Festival 2024 in Reading, Noisily Festival 2017 in Leicestershire & in Hamilton House, Bristol 2019
An installation that twists and moves with the wind. This large sculpture has been rigged up into the tree canopy at festivals to add colour and light. The spiral of hexagons are symbolic of the 'Hive Mind', the collective consciousness that draws people together to events spaces such as festivals to seek beauty and vibrancy through being connection with one another. Made from stained glass and wood- available for hire.
'Amanita Muscaria'- 'Sparkle! A Spectrum of Contemporary Glass' exhibition at the Black Swan Arts Centre in Frome, Somerset 2024
One of the most iconic toadstools. To see 'Amanita Muscaria' in the woods is the greatest of joys; deep red in colour and glowing in the moonlight this magical mushroom is a fantastical fruit of the land.
